ANNUAL WPSL INTERNATIONAL COMBINE SET FOR JULY
WPSL Side, Women's Football Club of Charlotte to
Host Event For Second Consecutive Year
OKLAHOMA CITY (2/10/2025) — The Women's Premier Soccer League, in conjunction with Soccer Performance International (SPI) and FUTLAB announced today the 2025 WPSL International Combine to be held July 21 through July 23 in Charlotte, N.C. For the second consecutive year, Women’s Football Club of Charlotte will host the two-day event at OrthoCarolina Sportsplex.
This year the WPSL and SPI welcome WPSL International Combine partner, FUTLAB PRO. Based in Madrid, Spain, FUTLAB PRO is one of the world’s leaders in identification and promotion of players with professional clubs across the globe.
"Recognizing the exceptional talent in women's soccer in the United States, we have partnered with the WPSL and SPI to host a unique event," Sebastián Borobio, FUTLAB PRO founder and CEO, said. "Through this initiative, top-tier Spanish clubs will travel to the U.S. to scout and recruit players for their teams.”
Professional scouts from U.S. and European-based clubs will be in attendance to evaluate this year's crop of current and former WPSL players. Throughout the three-day event, scouts will observe players in two 120-minute training sessions and three 90-minute full-field scrimmages.
“This year’s combine is the most sophisticated yet,” Andy Vera, SPI president, said. “Along with professional clubs ‘on-site’ to make legitimate offers, we will have international clubs connecting online to view and analyze potential players.”
Madrid CFF (Spain), Valencia FC (Spain), and CUS Consenza (Italy) have already committed to attend in search of some of the many hidden gems playing in the WPSL. The full roster of clubs attending this year's combine will be announced later this summer.
“The women’s game is growing, and the WPSL International Combine is providing more opportunities for female players to play professional football overseas and here in the United States, Scott Ginn, Women’s Football Club of Charlotte CEO and head coach, said. “We look forward to hosting a wonderful event again this summer and the summers to come.”
Fairfield Inn & Suites Charlotte Pineville has been named the official hotel partner of the 2025 WPSL International Combine and is within walking distance to the fields.
