The Women’s Premier Soccer League has cemented itself as a historic symbol in the women’s games. National icons and some of the most recognizable talents like Brandi Chastain, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Rose Lavelle, and Catarina Macario have competed on the WPSLfield.
The WPSL is one of the leading pillars in women’s soccer in the United States and remains committed to its mission of advancing the game through long-term impact and its affiliations with the United States Soccer Federation and Tier 1 League sanctioning by the United States Adult Soccer Association.

The WPSL has seen continual growth in its nearly 30-year history. What started as an eight-team league in 1998 in Northern California has evolved into a national organization of nearly 200 teams that compete spans coast-to-coast between its top level and Division II platforms. Over the past decade, WPSL membership has grown by 45% and boasts an average growth rate of 10.6%. The 2025 season marked the league’s ninth consecutive season where it fielded over 100 teams in its first division alone. Today, the WPSL’s two divisions now span 150cities in 40 states, from the Pacific Northwest to South Florida, New England to Southern California.
