2025 WPSL ALIGNMENT AND ROSTER OF TEAMS ANNOUNCED AT AGM

OKLAHOMA CITY (1/25/2025) — The Women’s Premier Soccer League unveiled its conference alignment for the 2025 season today during the league’s Annual General Meeting in Oklahoma City. The 2025 WPSL season will feature a league-record 150 teams, with 31 expansion and returning teams that did not play in 2024.

Teams are divided into Central, East, South, and West regions, with each region featuring four conferences. Larger conferences are split into geographical divisions, with division winners facing off in a conference championship match. Conference winners or representatives will meet in regional playoffs. Division and regional playoffs are hosted on a predetermined rotating basis with winners of each advancing to the WPSL National Championships in Stillwater, Okla. July 20.

The 2025 season brings several regional and conference shifts with the goal of keeping travel to a minimum while creating natural geographical rivalries.

The Central Region sees the addition of the Lone Star Conference, featuring teams from central and south Texas, moving from the South Region last season, and the formation of the North Lakes Conference, featuring teams from Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin divided into the Lake Michigan and Land of Lakes divisions.

The South Region welcomes 11 new and returning teams with the re-introduction of the Gulf Coast Conference featuring teams Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, split into Bayou and Panhandle divisions. Teams from northern Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee will make up the Magic Music and Scenic Peach divisions which will compete for the Southeast Conference title.

In the West Region, the SO Cal Conference, featuring 11 teams from northern Los Angeles to south of San Diego, will no longer feature divisional play, pitting each team against all other conference foes once in the 10-game schedule.

The East Region retains is structure from last season with its main shifts coming from team movement across conferences.

The full 2025 season schedule will be released in March, with regular season play beginning in early May. The WPSL season runs May through July.
