SECOND EXPANSION SIDE FOR 2025 JOINS RICH
WPSL LEGACY IN NASHVILLE MARKET

OKLAHOMA CITY (10/24/2024) –  The Women’s Premier Soccer League announces the addition of TN Tempo FC for the 2025 season. With the announcement, TN Tempo FC became the league’s second expansion team for the upcoming season.

“TN Tempo FC's mission in joining the WPSL is to expand opportunities for women in soccer by providing a high-level competitive platform where female athletes can develop their skills and showcase their talents,” Gift Ndam, TN Tempo FC owner and executive director, said.

“The club is focused on promoting inclusivity and excellence while creating pathways for players to advance their careers and inspiring the next generation of female athletes.”

Based in Murfreesboro, Tenn., TN Tempo FC was founded in 2021 as Beaman United FC with a mission to create an inclusive environment where players, regardless of socioeconomic background, can master their craft and pursue opportunities to compete at the next level. The club debuted in 2022 with a men’s side that competed in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) and experienced immediate success, becoming division champions and national runner-ups in its first year.

In June of 2023, the club took on the TN Tempo FC moniker, after launching its women’s side, with an eye towards greater exposure on the national stage. Ndam believes competing in the WPSL will raise the club’s profile, which will open opportunities to “enhance player development and foster greater community engagement.”

Co-Owner and Murfreesboro native, Tamra Simmons, believes there’s more to just the game than at the on-field level and wants to give women a platform to excel and help build a future where they are equally celebrated.

“I believe in the power of sports to inspire, uplift, and unite communities,” Simmons said. “Co-owning a women’s soccer team allows me to contribute to the growth of women’s sports, empower female athletes, and create opportunities for the next generation.”

For its inaugural WPSL season, Chicago native Carianne Bricker will lead TN Tempo FC in 2025 as head coach. Bricker brings forth award-winning playing experience as well as a coaching background at the youth level. Tony Bricker and Kevin Ford will also join Tempo’s coaching staff by bringing two decades of coaching experience collectively. Additionally, Ford holds an Advanced National Goalkeeping diploma from the United Soccer Coaches and was mentored by former USWNT coach, Tony DiCicco.

With an abundance of college and youth programs that draw from the Nashville metro, TN Tempo FC joins the rich WPSL legacy in the region, which has developed into one of the league’s most competitive hotbeds as it enters its 27th year of competition.
