With the Sunshine Conference season underway, FC Prime is quickly making a name for itself this season. Through two matches, FC Prime has scored 17 goals while allowing only two. The 17 goals scored have already eclipsed its tally of 16 for the entirety of its previous season. With the win over Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions, FC Prime has already equaled its win total from 2022.

However, a big test awaits as FC Prime is set to take on Team Boca Blast tonight who makes its season debut. Team Boca Blast was the best-performing team in the Sunshine Conference last season - earning 22 points while scoring 34 goals.

In the latest WPSL National Power Rankings, FC Prime came in ranked at #22, while Team Boca Blast sits at #20 based on its strong 2022 season. While it’s still early in the season, this matchup could prove to have a lasting effect on the outcome of the Coconut Division standings as the summer progresses.

FC Prime’s goal-scoring efforts are currently led by Pietra Tordin (Princeton University), who has scored a hat-trick in each of the club’s matches so far. However, Guilianna Johnston (Rice University) currently trails her teammate by only one goal as she holds five on the season. FC Prime now has six players who have scored this season and six players who have provided an assist.

While Team Boca Blast has yet to debut this season, it will bring a strong roster, including WPSL newcomer Nyela Calnek (Vanderbilt University) and two of its biggest performers from last season - Eliana Salama (Southern Methodist University) and Jade Euell (University of South Florida.) Salama scored seven goals last season while providing four assists and Euell scored three goals while recording one assist.

FC Prime will come into the match looking for revenge. In the 2022 season, Team Boca Blast won both its matches against FC Prime. Meanwhile, Boca Blast will has its eyes on starting the season off strongly as it aims to add to its two regular season titles.

FC Prime will host its third straight home match to start the season at 7 PM EST tonight and it’s going to be one you don’t want to miss.
