REGIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) named its RecoFit Regional Players of the Week honorees for Week 3 – Sydney Cooke (San Francisco Nighthawks), Bello (Colorado Pride), Taylor Jernigan (Classics Elite SA), and Hannah McNulty (Rhode Island Rogues). This selection saw a combined 13 goals scored, 3 assists recorded, and 260 minutes played among the four winners.

WEST REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sydney Cooke, Forward, San Francisco Nighthawks

Making her WPSL debut, Cooke tallied three goals in San Francisco’s big 7-0 win at home. Cooke only played 50 minutes in the Nighthawks season opener against the then-fifth ranked team in the West Region, Fresno Freeze, but proved to be a crucial asset to the San Francisco offense.

CENTRAL REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bello, Forward, Colorado Pride (Ortero College Colorado)

Bello recorded 50 minutes in the season opener for the Colorado Pride and made a massive statement in her first game in the WPSL. The Nigerian Youth International netted a hattrick in just eight minutes of play with goals coming in the 8’, 13’, and 16’ minutes. Bello went on to score another two goals plus an assist to tally a total of five goals and one assist on the match.

SOUTH REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Jernigan (Texas A&M), Forward, Classics Elite SA

Kicking off her fourth WPSL season, Jernigan led Classics Elite SA to its second win on the season and to the top of the Lone Star Conference standings. After going down a goal, Jernigan tallied an assist in the 30’ minute to equalize. The Texas A&M sophomore then gave the San Antonio side the 2-1 lead going into the half. Jernigan recorded her brace with the game winner in the 85’ minute and secured the Classics’ 3-2 win on the road.

EAST REGION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hannah McNulty, Forward, Rhode Island Rogues
11/20 Votes

McNulty contributed to all four goals in the Rogues’ 4-1 win and now leads the Northeastern Conference with five goals in two games. Rhode Island went early in the opening minutes of the game before McNulty assisted on the equalizer in the 4’ minute. Less than 15 minutes, later McNulty got herself on the score sheet with a goal in the 18’ minute to get the Rogues the 2-1 lead.
In the second half, McNulty recorded two more goals in the 57’ and 84’ minutes.
