TWENTY-THREE WPSL ALUMNAE HEARD NAMES
CALLED DURING 2024 NWSL DRAFT

No. 1 Overall Pick, Ally Sentnor, Played 2022 WPSL Season with Downtown United Soccer Club


OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 13, 2024) – The Women’s Premier Soccer League revealed that 23 former players were drafted in the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Draft hosted in Anaheim, Cali. on Friday, Jan. 13. With the conclusion of this draft, the WPSL has seen 166 alumnae earn selections since 2018.
 

Among the WPSL alumnae drafted include No. 1 overall Ally Sentnor, who played during the 2022 season with Downtown United Soccer Club – Sentnor was selected by Utah Royals FC. Two more former players heard their names called in the first round – Kate Wiesner (Washington Spirit, No. 7), who played for MISS KICK FC in 2022, and Maya Doms (Bay FC, No. 8), who’s played three seasons with the California Storm.
 

Since the 2018 NWSL draft, 33 first-round picks played in the WPSL.
 

The second round saw four alumnae taken at picks 21, 22, 26, and 27, while the third and fourth rounds saw 16 former players chosen. Twenty-two current and former WPSL teams were represented among the drafted alumnae with 12 of the 14 NWSL teams making the selections.
