FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CLAYTON, N.C. (May 23, 2023) – The Women’s Premier Soccer League announced today that Neuse River Futbol Alliance (NRFA) has officially joined the league and is set to compete in the 2024 season. With the announcement, NRFA becomes the WPSL’s second expansion for next season while growing its footprint in the Carolinas.
“NRFA is excited to join the WPSL for the upcoming 2024 season.” Mark Morgan, NRFA executive director, said. “This is an exceptional opportunity for our community-driven youth soccer club to increase visibility and seize enhanced development opportunities for our talented young female players.
Neuse River Futbol Alliance was formed in March 2017 by merging Johnston United Soccer Association (JUSA) and East Wake Soccer Association (EWSA). NRFA is dedicated to fostering a competitive soccer environment that nurtures players' skills, knowledge, and passion through top-quality training, structure, and positive coaching. Its aim is to inspire athletes at all levels to excel in soccer and beyond by equipping them with the necessary tools for success.
Now, entering its sixth year of operation, NRFA looks to extend its reach by offering greater advancement opportunities within its organization that directly impact its players.
“Joining the WPSL not only provides a clearer path forward but also acts as a significant stepping stone for aspiring players who are eager to pursue collegiate or professional careers,” Morgan said. “We are thrilled about the immense potential this milestone brings to our club and players.”
