OGDEN, Utah. (March 4, 2022) – The Women’s Premier Soccer League announced today, La Roca FC. has joined the league for the 2022 season. “It is with great excitement that we welcome La Roca to the WPSL,” Matt Homonoff, WPSL deputy commissioner said. “The club has an excellent history of player development and will round out the Wasatch Division of the Mountain Conference nicely.”
Since its inception in 2005, La Roca has been a prominent force in Utah’s youth soccer scene. The club features 62 head coaches within its organization who focus on development and soccer education. The club also launched the La Roca Foundation to help raise funds for players who struggle to meet the financial demands of playing youth soccer. The foundation features four initiatives – Legacy Fund, DREAM Program, SheAchieves, Events – that are designed to provide access to development training facilities and equipment, financial assistance to low-income families, opportunities for all female players to experience the sport, and promote unity within the club.
For the 2022 season, the Mountain Conference has moved back to the Central Region and will feature 11 teams in Utah and Colorado that have been divided into two divisions – Wasatch (Utah) and Rockies (Colorado). The league will announce the 2022 schedule by regions later this month.
