THE WPSL WELCOMES RADD FC AS LATEST MEMBER FOR 2021 SEASON

Published Mar 8, 2021

WESLEY CHAPEL, Florida – The Women’s Premier Soccer League continues to deepen its roots in the state of Florida with its latest expansion team for 2021. The WPSL welcomes RADD FC to the league for the upcoming season, becoming the third team in the Tampa Bay area.

Florida is second behind California with the most WPSL teams (16) in a state and occupies teams in five of the WPSL largest metro-areas. The competition increases in Florida each season and the 2021 season is expected to be just as fierce. The Florida region also plays a vital role in the league’s player development and has produced professional players including USWNT standouts, Emily Sonnett, and Morgan Gautratformerly Brian.

RADD FC, a brand-new independent organization, wanted to become part of the WPSL because of the league’s proud history and tradition with a mission to change the culture of soccer in the Tampa Bay area.

I can’t wait to be part of RADD FC’s WPSL team,” Stuart Campbell, RADD FC director of soccer, said. “This will take women’s soccer to another level as well as grow within our community.”

Campbell is a former professional soccer player with over 550 appearances for Leicester City, Birmingham City, Grimsby Town, Bristol Rovers, and Tampa Bay Rowdies. Campbell is also a UEFA & USSF A senior qualified coach who has served as interim head coach of the Bristol Rovers as well as both head and assistant coach for the Tampa Bay Rowdies. It is this level of experience that Campbell believes gives RADD FC a clear vision and philosophy on what is required to develop the individual player within a team.

For their inaugural season, home matches will be played at their brand new, state-of-the-art sports facility, Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus of Pasco County.

“I am thrilled to welcome the Women’s Premier Soccer League to Florida’s Sports Coast,” Mike Moore, Pasco County commissioner, and tourist development council chairman said. “The Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus of Pasco County is a premier facility [and] I am excited for the RADD FC players to train and play in our great community.”

Ticket information will become available closer to the start of the season.
