CENTRAL REGION RANKINGS

After three weeks with FC Dayton atop the Central Region Power Rankings, there is a new leader that’s overtaken the top. Bye weeks have cost some positions while others return to the Top 10 this week. The Northern Conference and Wasatch Division of the Mountain Conference have proven their regional dominance this week.


 

1.  Salvo SC (5-0-0, 15pts)
Northern Conference
Week 5 Rank:  4


Salvo SC overtakes as the top team in the Central Region after recording its fourth consecutive shutout win against St. Croix Legacy on the road. Last year’s WPSL runner-up has scored 19 goals in five matches while only conceding one goal.


Next Up — hosting Manitou F.C. (0-1-4, 1 pt.) Wednesday, June 19, and (at) Rochester United FC (2-1-3, 7 pts.) on Sunday, June 23.

 

2.  Sioux Falls City FC (5-0-0, 15pts)
Northern Conference
Week 5 Rank:  2


A 5-0 win over MapleBrook Fury keeps Sioux Falls City FC undefeated and at No. 2 in regional power rankings. Sioux Falls is also now even in points in the conference table but takes the top spots on goal differential.

3. FC Dayton (7-1-0, 22pts)
Midwest Conference – Gateway Division
Week 5 Rank: 1


FC Dayton drops two spots after a bye week in Week 6. FC Dayton has outscored its opponents so far by 25-4. Peyton Kohls co-leads the division in scoring with six goals this season; Jenna Hallbeck and Dani Hicks have five goals on the season.

4. FC Milwaukee Torrent (4-0-0, 12pts)
Midwest Conference – Lake Michigan Division
Week 5 Rank:  8


Big road wins against Quad Cities Rush and Chicago Houses, that saw the Torrent outscore the two sides 13-1, bumps Milwaukee up for places into the Central Region Top 5. In four games, Milwaukee has scored a division-leading 19 goals, conceding only two, the lowest in the division. Milwaukee enters Week 6 at the top of the Lake Michigan Division table, three points clear of Friday’s opponent, Green Bay Glory. A win all but wraps up the division title for the Torrent.


Next up – (at) Green Bay Glory (3-0-1, 9 pts.) on Friday, and then at Chicago KICS Football Club (1-1-3) on Sunday.

 

5.  Utah Surf (6-1-1, 19 pts)

Mountain Conference – Wasatch Division
Week 5 Rank:  7


For the second time this season, Utah Surf has upset the defending Wasatch Division champions and nationally ranked Utah Avalanche that helps the Surf up two spots to No. 5 this week. Now the Surf clings to a two-point lead at the top of the Wasatch Division standings over La Roca, and three points ahead of the Avalanche.

6.  La Roca FC (5-2-0, 17 pts)
Mountain Conference – Wasatch Division
Week 5 Rank:  6

 


La Roca FC retains its sixth position in regional rankings after drawing with the Utah Avalanche. La Roca now sits two points out of first place in the division table with a game in hand. La Roca also remains the only team in the division without a loss this season.


Next up – hosting Utah Avalanche (5-1-2, 16 pts.) Thursday, June 20, and Griffins FC (2-0-4, 6 pts.) on Saturday, June 22. 


7. KC Courage (4-0-1, 12pts)
Heartland Conference
Week 5 Rank:  5


A bye-week lands KC Courage back two spots from last week to No. 7. KC Courage has outscored its opponents so far this season 14-5 off goals from Kaira Houser, who leads the team with five, and Aya Saiki, who’s close behind with three. Mikayla Ernst, Riley Smith, and Courtney Claassen have also scored this season.


Next up – (at) Union KC on Thursday, June 20 and hosting Side FC 92 on Saturday, June 22.

 

8.  Utah Avalanche (5-2-2, 17 pts)

Mountain Conference – Wasatch Division
Week 5 Rank:  3


A tough week for Utah Avalanche saw its fall five to No. 8 after a 4-2 loss and 1-1 draw. The Avalanche now sit in third with 17 pts.


Next up – hosting Griffins FC on Tuesday, June 18 and (at) La Roca on Thursday, June 19 

 

9.  Colorado Pride (4-0-1, 12pts)

Mountain Conference – Rockies Division
Week 5 Rank:  unranked


Colorado Pride has made it back into the Central Region Top 10 since Week 3. Two big wins against Broomfield Burn saw the Pride score 12 unanswered goals in the shutout wins. Bello continues to be an offensive threat for the Rockies Division as she leads the division and Pride in goals with nine.

10.  Union KC (5-1-0, 16pts)

Heartland Conference
Week 5 Rank:  10


Union KC holds at No. 10 for the second week after defeating Missouri Reign 3-1 on the road. Allison Estanich, Hannah Larson, and Hope Kim all scored in the win. Union KC sits at the top of the Heartland Conference table with 16 pts – two points ahead of Oklahoma City FC and four points ahead of KC Courage.
