OKLAHOMA CITY – The Women’s Premier Soccer League has announced the schedule for the Northern Division of the Sunshine Conference today for the upcoming 2021 season. Formerly a lone conference in previous seasons, the Sunshine Conference was split into two divisions for 2021 to accommodate five new expansion teams and reduce travel concerns.

The Northern Division features teams in the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas. The division will be represented by Clermont Kicks FC (Orlando), Florida Krush (Orlando), Florida Premier FC (Tampa Bay), RADD FC (Tampa Bay), and Tampa Bay United.

Formerly known as Orlando Kicks, Clermont Kicks FC joined the WPSL in 2016 and brings an overall 16-4-3 record to their fourth season, having outscored their opponents 66/26. In their inaugural season, Clermont finished undefeated, outscoring opponents 20/3, and securing the regular-season conference title.

An additional successful and historic team, Tampa Bay United, returns to the league for their eighth season after a two-season absence. TBU currently holds the highest regular-season winning percentage in the league’s history with .994 – an overall regular-season record of 44-3-5. Their record of six conference titles is tied for third-most in league history.

“Since my arrival in 2019, it has been a goal of ours to resurrect such an important and historic program by rejoining the WPSL and bringing this elite level of play back to the TBU membership and soccer community,” Anthony Latronica, sporting director for Tampa Bay United Soccer Club, said. “We are committed to facilitating the development of all players who want to play at the highest domestic or international levels and this capstone league is the platform needed for our high-achieving athletes.”

Along with veteran teams, the Northern Division will feature two new expansion teams from the 2021 class, Florida Premier FC and RADD FC, intensifying the competition in the Tampa Bay and Central Florida area.

Florida Krush returns to the WPSL for their seventh season.

The season will kick-off the beginning of June and play through the middle of July over a 20-match balanced schedule with each team playing four home-and-away matches.

The first match of the schedule will feature two head-to-head match-ups on June 2nd with TBU hosting RADD FC and Florida Premier FC hosting Clermont. Florida Krush will open their season on the road against Florida Premier FC on June 5th.
